We're regularly asked to explain why qualifications from colleges and universities are now falling behind more commercially accredited qualifications? With a growing demand for specific technological expertise, the IT sector has moved to the specialised core-skills learning only available through the vendors themselves - namely companies such as Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO and Adobe. This frequently provides reductions in both cost and time. Patently, an appropriate portion of associated knowledge has to be learned, but essential specialised knowledge in the areas needed gives a vendor educated student a huge edge.

Think about if you were the employer - and you needed to take on someone with a very particular skill-set. Which is the most straightforward: Pore through a mass of different academic qualifications from various applicants, trying to establish what they know and what vocational skills they've acquired, or select a specialised number of commercial certifications that exactly fulfil your criteria, and make your short-list from that. You'll then be able to concentrate on getting a feel for the person at interview - rather than establishing whether they can do a specific task.

There are colossal changes washing over technology in the near future - and this means greater innovations all the time. Computing technology and dialogue through the internet will dramatically affect the way we live our lives in the future; to a vast degree.

If money is high on your goal sheet, then you will be pleasantly surprised to hear that the income on average for IT employees in general is considerably more than with much of the rest of industry. Due to the technological sector growing nationally and internationally, it's predictable that the requirement for certified IT professionals will flourish for the significant future.

Quite often, students have issues with one aspect of their training very rarely considered: How the training is broken down and sent out to you. Students often think it makes sense (when study may take one to three years to pass all the required exams,) that a training provider will issue the training stage by stage, until you've passed all the exams. Whatever area a trainee chooses to build a career in IT, there are 'CompTIA' accreditations that will enhance their skills. Those who are specifically interested in Networking, Systems, Support, Security, Servers & Communications are particularly well served. A new package of beginner-level programs named STRATA have been put together by 'CompTIA'. These are for people who could do with a more effective understanding of fundamental IT knowledge, but don't always work in IT themselves.

Locating job security these days is very rare. Companies can drop us from the workforce at a moment's notice - whenever it suits. But a quickly growing market-place, with a constant demand for staff (because of a massive shortage of trained staff), creates the conditions for true job security.

Reviewing the computer industry, a recent e-Skills survey highlighted an over 26 percent skills deficit. Or, to put it differently, this highlights that the country can only locate three properly accredited workers for each four job positions existing currently. This one idea in itself reveals why the United Kingdom urgently requires so many more trainees to join the industry. It's unlikely if a better time or market settings will exist for obtaining certification in this hugely emerging and blossoming business.
